i just got back from a rather long lunch during which i took myself to target and got some surprisingly cute clothes and some magazines, then went to baja fresh for some deeeelishous tortilla soup.

on the way back to work, little red corvette came on the radio. which is, you know, yay. a hot summer day, with new cute clothes in a bag in the trunk, stomach full of yumminess and a rockin prince song cranked up to 11. good stuff.

except i think for the first time ever, i actually thought about the lyrics. now i realize that i'm surely the last person over the age of 20 to have noticed this. and i'd even wager that if i googled the topic, i'd find that it's been thoroughly covered by other folks out there who probably thought that they, too, were pointing out something overlooked.

the particular lyrics i'm talking about are:

what have you got to lose??? how about your dignity? your ability to say you don't have herpes? jesus. so the woman has decided to carry around her used condoms as some sort of momento, i gues. and it's ok because it's saturday. suuuure. you didn't know about the whole it's ok to be a completely foul and filthy skank with sperm spilling out of your pockets, so long as it's saturday rule? your loss, people. i mean really.

probably i have too much time on my hands. and also i'm sure the whole rest of the free world was confused but got over it when the song came out like...oh...what? 25 YEARS AGO?

in other news, they announced that everyone at work is getting a free 8GB iphone by the end of july.

it's a happy, happy day.

i hope people remember to keep the iphone in a separate pocket on saturdays, is all i'm sayin.
